Fat Loss 4 Idiots Fast Fat Loss Program
This is a very simple easy to understand fat loss program- like it says its fat loss for idiots. To be honest I find the name a bit off putting but maybe I am just old fashioned! I didn't let it put me off the diet. I bought it and am using it right now.
I wouldn't normally go for a diet like this as I know perfectly well that it isn't a life time program. But you know that there are times when you just want to lose fat fast. This is one of those times for me. I am about to go on a summer break to Port Douglas which is on the coast of Queensland near the Australian Great Barrier Reef. I will be going out to see the fish and I do not want to die of embarrassment when I can't fit into the wet suits they provide you with. So I bought the fat loss 4 idiots program and can tell you all about it from first hand experience.
This is an online diet and when you buy it you are taken to a diet generator where you create your first 11 days on the program. You are presented with two lists of foods and you can choose 7 to 15 from each list. The diet is then spat out for you to print off. There is a menu for each day on which you get four small meals. I will tell you what these consist of in a moment.
First let's take a look at the theory behind this plan.
It is neither low carb, low fat, nor low calorie. These methods, they say, do not work. Low carb makes you miserable and robs you of energy. (I guess they mean the very strict Atkins kind of low carb.) Low fat isn't working either, look how fat we are getting, and low calorie leaves you too hungry and then you plateau. Diets like Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers just take too darn long. The fat loss 4 idiots program is based on what they call "calorie shifting".
This is the premise behind this fat loss program. They say:
"You are overweight for the most simple of reasons — because you're eating the wrong foods, the wrong types of calories per meal, and you're also eating meals in the wrong patterns each day."
They go on to explain that each time you eat both your fat burning hormones and your fat storing hormones are activated. On this diet the aim is to minimize the fat storing hormones and activate the fat burning hormones as much as possible. This is achieved by eating different kinds of food each day and this is said to confuse your metabolism and force you to lose fat. The foods you eat are not just any old foods, they are foods that are easily burnt.
What Do you get To Eat On The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Plan?
What you get on your plan will most likely be different from what I got because you choose your 30 foods yourself. However it will be roughly similar.
The first day I got a choice of about 3 protein and fat foods at each meal. For example bacon strips, deli ham, chicken, cottage cheese, low fat milk, sausage links, scrambled egg. The second day was an all fruit day except for a sandwich for one meal. Then back to a similar day to day 1. On about the fifth day it was an all vegetable day and I was allowed to add some grated cheese to the veges.
So it goes on for 11 days with each day slightly different. Quantities are not given, the only rule is you must not eat until you are completely full.
You do not have to exercise at all on this diet, unless you want to.
When the 11 days are up you take a 3 day break when you eat normally but not excessively. You don't want to put it all on again do you? You then print out a new combination of meals and start again, if you need to.
What I Thought Of The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet
I lost 6 lbs during my first 11 days. You might lose more as I am not at all active and I don't shed weight easily being over 50 years old. (It just gets harder every year, so lose it now if you are young!) I was absolutely thrilled with my results and am now on my second 11 day stint.
This is not a way I would want to eat for ever but it is not intended that you should. For one thing you really can't go out for a meal while you are doing it. If you want to lose fat fast though and are prepared to limit your socializing for a while then you won't mind this.
I haven't found "Fat Loss 4 Idiots" it hard at all and I think that is partly because it is short and you see results fast. Every day when you get on the scales you have lost another chunk of weight which keeps you feeling very happy. Also the foods you eat are tasty and sustaining. I have felt hungry but only on the all fruit and all green vegetables days and I can stand it for that long.
There is an additional part of the diet that tells you how to keep it off. There are also two more diets that come with the program. One is a 10 day diet and is a bit more complicated, but not much. I found it a little confusing to be given an additional but similar plan and wasn't sure which one to follow at first. I followed the 11 day diet because it said this would be the fastest way to loss fat.
You also get a handbook with rules for losing weight more slowly. For this you opt in when you purchase the plan and pay a little extra. I haven't used this but may go on to it when I am not in such a hurry.
I would recommend this diet to anyone who wanted to lose weight fast, that means everyone I guess!
