HIT best exercise for weight loss
Want to know the best exercise for weight loss and fitness? Can you spare a few minutes three times a week?

Recent studies are showing that HIT (high intensity interval training) training is the most effective way to improve fitness and lose fat. See article

“HIT (High intensity interval training)  was first studied by Dr. Izumi Tabata using the Japanese speed skating team. Dr. Tabata had the skaters skate in all out bursts of intensity for 20 seconds followed by a brief 10 second recovey period, for a total of 8 sets…

The results were spectacular. The speed skaters, using this high intensity interval training protocol significantly improved their overall fitness levels, both anaerobic and aerobic.

Yes, with workouts lasting only 4 minutes in length, they improved their aerobic (what most people think of as endurance) capability, despite not doing any traditional endurance training.

This certainly sounds like a great solution to spending all those hours  at the gym. But it isn’t an easy option. Going all out for even 20 seconds is painful as you will know if you have ever tried it! Still it is worth it to speed up your progress.

One way to do this with less pain is to join a Spinning class at a gym. Spinning is a class in which you are led in a simulation of cycling up hill and on the flat in turn. You adjust the gears to get the effect. In Spinning class there are times when you are going flat out but then just as you think you will collapse you reach a level path and you get a break. I find in a class it is much easier to do these painful all out sprints than it would be on your own.

However you can do this any way you like. Skipping, running on the spot or a treadmill will all work. You just need to be able to vary your speed.
